吉祥寺弁天通りをまっつぐと歩き、五日市街道手前の沖縄料理屋「琉球」を目印にターン・ツー・ザ・レフトしたところにあるクラブ「bar drop」。このお店が2008年いっぱいで閉店されるそうです。

dextrax結党前、私ryoと相方のkeiは95年くらいから、このbar dropでDJをしておりまして。西荻窪や北東京の仲間と「exQs」(旧称：Q-Boat)というテクノのパーティを開催していました。

drop自体は当時から今にいたるまでギターポップ・イヴェントが週末のメインを飾る箱。そんななかで我々は、5年ほど平日枠のマンスリーレギュラーをさせていただいてたのですが、これは大変貴重な経験でありました（なにせ素人同然でしたし、DJをがっつりやらせてくれる箱もなかなか無かったのです）。この頃の活動が縁で、八王子shelterでDJをされていたkomiriさんや、お笑い芸人とパフォーマンスとテクノを折衷した「キッチン」、UKテクノの「メトロジュース」、レアグルーヴの「cheers」といった周辺のパーティとも繋がったり。なにかと人生を狂わす出会いの多いTIME&SPACEでありました。近頃は年に一度単発でパーティをやらせていただく程度で、なかなか顔も出せてなかったのですが。改めて閉店と伺うと、母校が廃校になってしまうような寂しさを覚えたり。

そんなdex野郎のメモリアル・プレイス＝bar dropでございますが、前述の「キッチン」経由で出会いましたNOW!さんが一念発起、年末に久々にパーティをすることになりました。偶然ながら、FQTQさん、NOW!さん、kei of dextrax、山さんのバースデーも近いということで、バースデーバッシュも兼ねてやるとのこと。

たからかに、楽しんでやりたいと思います。bar dropオールドスクーラーの皆さま、吉祥寺周辺の皆様、酔っ払いの皆様、ぜひにいらっしゃってください♪(r.o.d.)
